The mission of the R&D group is the development of new processes
and the improvement of the existing ones offered in our technology portfolio.
The integration with the other departments, mainly mechanical and process
engineering, guarantees a complete and fast transfer of the know-how
reducing the timing of the involved projects and increasing effectiveness
and efficiency of the activities.
The processes are deeply investigated starting from the lab scale
and using the most updated techniques available; the scale-up in the pilot
scale allows the optimization of the process parameters reducing
the risks associated to the final transfer in the industrial scale.
During these phases chemistry and technology are fully integrated.
The purpose of the group is to provide a complete set of information
for a careful design, the final target is the improvement of the performances
of the manufacturing processes in terms of quality, costs, safety
and environmental impact, with special efforts for:

• Reducing raw material and utilities consumption
  
  
• Reducing period costs through unit operation and production capacity
  improvements
  
  
• Fitting the quality of the products to the market requirements
  
  
• Using "environmental friendly" chemicals
  
  
• Lowering wastes and emissions
  
  
• Minimizing the potential risks

A network with external Research Centers has been recently established;
the principal partners are:

• CNR Firenze (Institute of Chemistry of organometallic compounds)
• Serichim (R&D Company)
